The aim of this course is to give students an overview of the English case law system and of English Contract Law, with more detailed analysis of topics that illustrate the nature of English contract law or are of comparative interest.

Students will be expected to read a selection of English cases and other material, which will be discussed in class (digital copies will be made available). Students will also be asked to make comparisons to their own law (especially the Taiwanese Civil Code) and international instruments such as the UNIDROIT Principles of International Contracts.
